Club Projects
Our Kiwanis club participates in a variety of projects throughout the year that involve fundraising, community service, and assisting children locally and worldwide. Additionally, we have speakers at our meetings to explore topics of interest to the membership. We engage in a number of social activities to share experiences, talents and our collective interests. All represent great opportunities for service, friendships and personal growth.

Fighting Neonatal tetanus with 133 pairs of shoes
The Coopersville Area club of the Michigan District of Kiwanis International collected gently used pairs of shoes. During the last two months boxes set up around the area collected 133 pairs of shoes.
The shoes create sustainable income opportunities in developing nations. They also reduce emissions by keeping the shoes out of landfills. Money from the shoes provides life-saving tetanus immunizations for pregnant mothers. Neonatal tetanus remains a significant problem in developing countries. Every five pairs of shoes saves one baby!! To date the Kiwanis clubs in Michigan have collected more than 34,000 pairs of shoes raising nearly $15,000, saving the lives of over 7,000 babies.
